What's on your mind?

Late to the conversation.

I usually have hobby slumps due to either… we are busy and let the housework get on top of us (I can’t concentrate in a messy space) or I am stressed and dopamine mining on YouTube. I usually have to deal with that stuff before I can get anything at all done.

I saw an interview where this guy was saying that social media businesses models are inherently bad mostly due to advertising and the need to instantly grab attention, therefore focuses on very base thinking processes. Yaktribe is essentially a social media platform, that is also free to those who can’t/ won’t pay but makes money, not through advertising but by voluntary donations. I feel very grateful it is here.

I'm visiting my mum and she just showed me a bag of old White Dwarfs (probably around #180-230, though likely not a complete run).

Has anyone been desperately looking for any old articles from ORB Necro, GoMo, 2nd edition 40k, etc? If so, I can have a look and see whether I've got them.

Just saw this, made me want to build terrain!
Also, I wrote an exam paper on water as risk and ressource in marshlands, so struck a chord from my studying days. Your mileage may vary, but it's a great solution to being surrounded by undrinkable water!

I once jury rigged a game based off gaslands to play with my wife’s friend’s son. I made six rulers of 3 different lengths, for each speed/gear there was a straight and a curved ruler (the curved rulers being straighter as the speed increased). If you moved the straight ruler, next turn you could accelerate to the next speed up.

It worked well. We made a track. Trolled each other by swerving in front of each other ( any collision causing the moving player to go back to 0speed). And as we got familiar with it the tracks got more complex and interesting. Good to add structure to make believe racing.

Sad news update from Warlord Games. Paul 'Fat Bloke' Sawyer has been seriously ill for several months and won't be returning to work. I have fond memories of White Dwarf and other publications from back in the day.
It feels like we should write him a letter.

When I posted the above, that was pretty much all I knew, but more details have emerged. Unfortunately, his condition is terminal.

Warlord have a special charity figure:

There's also a GoFundMe page.
