I know. I remember being very annoyed at the change.

Does the Vallejo not have a bit to much blue in it? I use the coat d arms version which I think is the closest but not quite as vibrant.

Looking at ancient models IRL at Foundry Miniatures, one thing I noticed was the Goblin Green bases are very blue toned!

I too now use Vallejo as with @Tiny the convenience far outweighs historical accuracy, especially as GW historical accuracy is dependent on who mixed the paint before it was put into the pots!

I don’t find it particularly blue though, interestingly my old Army Painter Goblin Green is the same as the Vallejo one, or at least so close that you’d never notice which was used.

The screwup screwtop one was vibrant rather than a muted green. I found Vallejo Model Color: Olive Green was a reasonable match to that.

need to keep stalling for time and do those frigging ponchos
-mordheim: kislevite warband: getting printed, don't forget to order the bear... see if local shop can get epic miniatures
ostermarkers: getting printed / awaiting empire shipment... don't forget to order the dog, look up examples for the fat farmer
pit fighters: shopping done, save trollslayer... extreme converting, do other warbands first

I'm not sure that would do much against piracy... there are scans out there of most physical books.
that being said... they don't really think through how they can bind their clients to them.

say you buy one codex for one army/gang, you get the updates for the book for free.
-they would remove the 'book cost' for upcoming releases, replacing it with an advertisement for upcoming products (models or supplies)
-for people who really collect a faction you would 'hook them in' for a certain content... meaning you would invest in long term consumers
-based on that they could even do targeted marketing

-illegal copies would become less interesting as the you're not buying the book, you're buying the yearly updates to a faction

but both in France (having a certain national pride) and ukraine (not really being fans of Russian language rulebooks) the reception has been a bit lukewarm...
I think they might be going a bit too far...

Come to think of it GW always seems to go against the tide. In France there is a big RPG culture and most companies either sell PDF, physical books and PDF or the PDF is free if you can prove that you bought the book, give a free PDF on occasion or the basic book.

Same for the video game licenses. Most companies are careful with their IP even if can end up in company like Evil Associates.

In the era of AI translation it’s actually quite surprising that they’ve taken that stand!!
Even if they didn’t want to master and print lots of physical books you’d think they’d jump in on a quick digital job.

I mean, we’ve seen the quality of their English language versions, so even if the AI garbled whole sentences it might not be noticeable. It might actually make them better!!

well there never was a Necromunda book in french save for the ones in the n17 release of gang war. So on this i don't think it's the issue.

the dutchspeaking part of Belgium usually gets the English books, the French speaking part get French WD, etc...
but starting from 20 years ago I think they have been downsizing their translations to only the bigger games.

for French necromunda I'm aware one of the mundamanager people is trying to collect french materials and has organized a French necromunda discord (djidiouf / ashenquarter), we got into an exchange when I talked to a frenchspeaking Canadian on their discord.
I can ask him the discord address if it's relevant?
