What's on your mind?

I am getting old. Evidence for this is that I tend to read more about historical war events (Vietnam War, Prussian-French War and 30-year War) in order to paint models inspired by these eras instead of reading the trivial literature associated to the sci-fi and fantasy worlds.

Very sad news.

I met him a couple of times at Bring Out Your Lead events he was a decent chap.

His art is very inspirational and without it I think the settings that GW cash in on now wouldn’t have had as much appeal. He really pioneered the weird look of 40k, and his art is still recognised as the defining look of the setting to which most others now follow the aesthetics of.

I hope that they will acknowledge his passing - as they didn’t bother for a couple of the other early pioneers of their company.

Thanks for the art and inspiration John!!

"No pilot licence, no runway, no limits"... no shrouds on the shin height props either 😬

And "15 minutes of flight time" doesn't really tie with "no limits".

I've seen how utterly retarded people with licenses can be with vehicles safely on the ground on designated vehicle movement areas (i.e. roads). Do we want those people plummeting through the sky on an eight bladed blender?

Soooo…. I have a new favourite setting to base Sci-Fi stories. It’s called Proxima Centauri B. What’s really exciting is that it is a real planet. Scientists are interested in this planet because up to now it is the closest planet that might be able to support life. And it has some great fodder that lends itself to interesting games and stories.

Such as it revolves around a red star. It is tidally locked, which means the same side always faces the sun and the other side has never seen it. So one side is unbelievably cold and the other hot.

If mankind would settle on it we would have to live on the horizon to avoid burning to a crisp or freezing like a popsicle. Here where hot meets cold theoretically there will be constant hurricanes.

Therefore mankind would have to live in walled cities situated in massive canyons that have likely formed, and from there dig down.

So people would live and move around the planet in this straight line, except for the most desperate military manuvours.

In my opinion, it makes for great story telling and game mechanics
