Ok here is one more....
Nostalgia.

Looking at the new incredibly expensive price hikes... we are getting close to ebay prices on classic games ive always wanted...

Mordheim. 300 on ebay doesnt sound so bad anymore compared to warcry. and i would actually get the game id want and not wish i had bought... warbands are 100 bucks but warcry are 42 and half the model count.
Hmmmm

Mind you, one of the good things about the old games, is that GW did actually make pdf printable copies of them FREE, which means printing and binding comes to ... not that much. Though if you mean the boxed set, well. Those corners and windows are almost worth their weight in bills, alone. They combine excellently with foamcore....

I put a cheeky early bid on an original box of Necromunda Delaques and got the email saying I'd won them yesterday :giggle:

I was havering about buying a box of N18 ones and a box of Enforcers and had a minor revelation - for less than the price of a box of each of the new I can buy the models I've wanted for years instead (y)

With a couple of Juves and a couple more gangers I can make it an entirely functional and respectable gang... it's not going to be a case of collecting every original sculpt again. No siree. Not going fall for that one. Like with the Van Saar, once was enough... then I did the Escher too of course...

...Oh no, what have I done

...I'm almost certainly going to be hunting the uncrossed guys below :ROFLMAO:

I think my wife found me a line on a local sale for ridiculously cheap of the original box terrain [!], and seven Spyrers [!]. Table density AND painting up more Spyrers? Looks like I will be spending some money that I should be saving, come Thursday.

So Marvel is going to be putting out Warhammer 40k comics (announced today). i was more hoping that GW would be putting out a superhero game with Marvel minis... (that i wouldn’t be able to buy, so i guess that doesn’t make much sense, now does it?)

Marvel's strength is not really with dark-edged satire - look at how the Punisher has been received since his creation in the 1970s. By Marvel and by fans, he keeps being treated as the heroic protagonist, rather than as the antiheroic warning character he was created as. That doesn't bode particularly well for this series. Too bad IPC/Fleetway/Rebellion didn't get the nod.

Watched the how to play vid for Blitz Bowl, actually looks like a good standalone rather than just dumbed down Blood Bowl. See if they one day release in Aus.
Belated reply. About a week ago, in a local board game "math trade," we snagged a copy of Blitz Bowl [it was never released here in Canada, as far as I can see]. It does play quite differently to Blood Bowl proper, having no campaign season, and no fouling or long-term injury. BUT it might, on the other hand, make a good foundation for a side-scenario for Necromunda or GorkaMorka, being a relatively short game, by comparison to Blood Bowl. Mordheim already has Street Bowl, but the NM and GM terrain might suit this better in some ways. And its brevity makes it a side-game during campaigns rather than a scenario in itself. Someone has already built a three-way pitch and run a couple of three-way test games, which apparently worked well, so even that is possible.

Anyhow, was amazed to snag a copy [was harder to get than Gretchinz! in the end].

I ended up ordering it from Barnes & Noble in the US and had it sent out here (with a mate, so shared shipping made it work ok). It's a fun game, good for a quick pickup and play
