Hmm 1x murder cyborg already started, 1 X settlement walls designed to fits into my aquarium filter table, uses pre existing terrain too much. 1x guilder enforcement gang already started. Damn it I started modeling to soon!

There’s always one isn’t there. :p

I hadn’t thought about that, but off the top of my head I’d say no, not unless it was published in the Vault and everyone has access to it. It’s a fairly loose brief so I’d like to keep it a little confined.

So how much leniency do we have? Which of the following concepts lie within acceptable bounds.

1. Only things that are an essential part of a scenario, such as a waterstill.
2. Also inclusive of yak vault scenarios, such as a hive guys shack.
3. Things that aren't necessarily part of the scenario but are cool to include, such as an Underhive settlement for the Gunfight scenario
4. Things that are cool to include in a battle for RP sake, such as a drinking hole or something else from the territory chart?

Good question @Biggle_Bear. I’ll answer them in turn.

1. Only things that are an essential part of a scenario, such as a waterstill.
A. Not only, but also, ie anything that’s part of the scenario. You could just make the water still ... or you could
build the water still, and an entire building around it as well. Remember it’s about the scenario you choose.

2. Also inclusion of yak vault scenarios, such as a hive guys shack.
A. Yes. Just provide a “link” to the scenario. (Link, reference, summary etc.)

3. Things that aren't necessarily part of the scenario but are cool to include, such as an Underhive settlement for the Gunfight scenario
A. Yes. In fact the above is an excellent example of something big. After all.. you need somewhere
for the shootout to happen.

4. Things that are cool to include in a battle for RP sake, such as a drinking hole or something else from the territory chart?
A. Yes, as extras. The main part of your entry should relate to a scenario. There’s nothing stopping you making a
Drinking Hole/Gambling Den as part of the “Shoot out” scenario for example. Again remember it’s about the
scenario.

If you have specific queries you can always PM or Conversation me.

Alright I think my idea has crystallized well enough.... I was going to do Murder Cyborg, I have a cool image in my head, but I don't think my sculpting is up to the task to achieve what is in my head.

I'm going to build the gate section of 'The Wall' as described in the scenario 'Settlement Attack' on page 76 of Gang War 4.
A rough summary for those who haven't read this supplement, the scenario has one attacker trying to breach 'The Wall' to gain access to the other's territory. The Wall has a closed and locked door in it, with room for defenders to fight from above.

We need to send brave souls to defend The Wall.... for Trolls are coming.....

When I get started I'll put up a page link directly, it'll be a part of my regular plog as linked in signature!

Thanks @Azzabat , so at the moment I am thinking of a cafeteria jury rigged into a drinking hole. But to satisfy the requirements there will be a 16" by 10" "corridor" so that a shootout can take place there (which is a place cleared as a dance floor, mosh pit or for ceremonies). The idea has not cemented but we will see if it comes to fruition.

So, we can build an entire table, eh? I'm sure someone will be mad enough to do so...

I wanted to focus on building the special scenario-specific items. (This seemed to me the spirit of the competition theme. I don't mind at all if others want to interpret it more broadly though - I just want to focus on these bits as they're the things you might need, assuming you already have a basic scenery collection.)

The trouble with this is that some of these specific items aren't all that much on their own. For instance, there's a scenario in Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago that calls for a man-sized rock marked with an X (that has treasure buried underneath it). That would be something useful to have for that scenario, but it wouldn't make for much of an entry on its own.

Could I make a bunch of small scenario-specific items like this and enter them together, as a single entry?

I checked the competition rules/FAQ and saw this:

Can I enter more than once?
Yes, of course! But, each entry is treated separately. Example: AndyT81 gets 100points of voting on an awesome entry. djmothra get 99points for Entry 1 and another 99points for Entry 2 - Andy is still the winner.

But that's not quite what I'm asking. That clarifies that, if I have two entries, each is treated separately for purposes of voting. I'm asking whether I can combine multiple bits in a single entry.

Title your entry ~”Frostgrave Objectives”, or something like that, and you are all set :-D

I’m kind of thinking about maybe making something, but it would fall into the category of not specifically needed for scenario.

...however, I should probably just finish(start) the billionty projects that are currently cluttering the bench. :-/

@Ben_S in the above case I’d say yes, provided the additional items embellish the central stone. The idea is that your building something for a scenario. For “a scenario” read it as “1 specific scenario”, hence the need to provide a summary or link to it.
The narrative for “X Marks The Spot” actually suggests adding a ruin or two and some foliage, so this would be acceptable

@trollmeat, the comp is for scenarios, not objectives (that was done in comp #2). :)

”... scenario objective markers”

Clearly i donut undersand P-:

Actually @trollmeat I’ve re-read that post, and I think I misunderstood you. I lobbed in your “Frostgrave Objectives” comment with your “not specifically needed for scenario” and assumed you meant scatter terrain.

My mistake, please ignore. An objective marker for a scenario would definitely be ok. :censored:

The thing I was thinking of, and probably won’t do due to being slack & distracted, is Scavvy Soup Cauldron for Rescue scenario... would that fit the guidelines for the competition?

.oO(if i make it so that it has a tea light glowing under it then it would fit into the last competition “fueled by fire”) :p

Perhaps this would be perfect time to actually build the "arena" for my Running man - Alley Games scenario. I always though that I had posted the captive scenarios I have edited and created to the vault, but apparently not. So I uploaded that old pdf for NCE https://yaktribe.games/community/vault/captive-scenarios-by-loriel.946/

Yes it would, and it’s a great idea. You have to make this happen!
