Yakcomp 37: "You just can't get the staff these days"

Where would your gang be without the expertise of your local rogue doc? In far worse shape presumably - or perhaps better off, but you get what you pay for around here! In this comp, create some hired help for your gang. A scout, a cook, a smith or somebody to tie your shoelaces as far as I'm concerned (in fairness, I've heard some Goliaths really struggle with that). Maybe they're represented by rules in the game, maybe they're just nice NPCs to have on the table. I'm mainly thinking about non-combatants here, although you'd be a fool to enter these places completely unarmed of course...

Yaks have 6 weeks to create, make and paint their entry, which must use at least 3 colours and be suitably based.

Bonus yak points* will be awarded for a description of your deviant
Even more Bonus yak points** for including their place of ‘work’

The deadline for this comp will be midnight BST on Saturday the 27th February 2021.
Any yak wishing to enter merely has to state their interest in joining in and provide a link to their work in progress thread!

PRIZE:
The Yak with the most votes will become the new YakComp Champion, Win $15 store credit from the ever generous @Mad Robot! They will also win a rather striking 1st place red banner, AND will have the ultimate power of selecting the theme for the next YakComp!

That sure is fast! I've known about the theme for a month and I still haven't a clue what I'll be doing.

my advice to anyone joining in, is don’t expand your ambitions until after you’ve got something finished!
what I mean is, it’s super easy to get carried away with inspiration, only to very quickly lose track of time with nothing to show!

I hope you mean that you just started these since the comp was announced and not that you're planning to enter something already started...

@Ben_S Interesting question does an undercoated model ready for paint count as started? No real assembly they are full models.

I’d normally say go at it and the voting Yaks will decide to others, although I admit back in the distant comp past there have been several heated debates about this, the same with models you cast/sculpt yourself.

They suggest you can enter something already primed, but not something that's already half-built. Something primed - or painted then stripped - is likely to be wholly built.

Maybe this is context specific. If you're painting a single figure and building them as is it doesn't feel particularly important whether they're already assembled and primed or not prior to the comp. If the challenge is to scratch-build some specific kind of terrain and you've already got it on your shelf it doesn't feel very in the spirit of things to just use that?

Either way assembled and primed minis seem fine to me, but I don't know how serious you guys take things around here.
