Yakcomp 38: "It Belongs in a Museum!”

On any world, at any time, some objects hold more power -either percieved or actual- than others. And people covet them for any number of reasons.

You must portray one of these objects, and preferably someone interacting with it, be it directly or not. Is it a Cawdor Champion kneeling at their gang relic? A Ratskin Shaman defending an impromptu archaeotech shrine? A Digganob lifting Ork-tech from the sand? Or a group of Cultists about to open the Ark of th... Wait, different mythology. You get the idea.

Are you possessor or possessed? Defender or defiler?
Either way, it belongs in a museum!

Yaks have 6 weeks to create, make and paint their entry, which must use at least 3 colours and be suitably based.

Bonus yak points* will be awarded for a description of your coveted desirable artefact.
Even more Bonus yak points** for including a mini, or group, of explorers making their discovery.

The deadline for this comp will be midnight BST on Saturday the 29th of May 2021.
Any yak wishing to enter merely has to state their interest in joining in and provide a link to their work in progress thread!

PRIZE:
The Yak with the most votes will become the new YakComp Champion, Win $15 store credit from the ever generous @Mad Robot! They will also win a rather striking 1st place red banner, AND will have the ultimate power of selecting the theme for the next YakComp!

Good Luck Tribesmen!

*bonus yak points are worth 0
votes.
** extra bonus yak points are worth double bonus yak points!

5 hours downing tools should be fairly easy at the mo....

Indeed, even trolls need to sleep (I assume), so this seems too easy.

Thankfully, I believe a precedent has already been set previously:

Soo whilst hopping on one leg wearing a cowboy hat repeat "I shall not cheat my myself or my fellow yakkers, or may the all mighty creator @Malo banish me from this forum" for 30 minutes whilst looking at your partially completed comp entry in penance.

So, we expect to see something like this... (I suppose your troll crown will do, if you don't have a cowboy hat.)

The 5 hours you suggest may seem a long time on one leg, but staff need to set an example...

Pah.

The Troll expected this kind of “humour” and accepts the challenge as laid down by a certain much younger but equally handsome orange Yak! A photo “Proof” shall be submitted with my entry.

<This is joke just in case>
I urge you to reconsider, you may not have what it takes to withstand the horrors of Yaktribe penance. Lately I have managed to get couple good days going on, but I am still haunted by the pink cowboy (or cowgirl?) hat!!!

for the younger yakkers you may witness my penance from ancient times https://yaktribe.games/community/threads/loriels-terrain-model-blog.1691/page-21#post-81967

Hahahah!

As a self appointed Yaktribe Elder my judgement for ClockworkOrange is that in his Penance he must be upside down like a filthy bat! This is naturally addition for any other Yaktribean Judgement!

You could make a non-affiliated powerful artefact that all the gangs would fight and die for? Could even be a way to make an objective marker for "The Hoard" scenario?

Edit: Ooh, just spitballing here, but we've all seen Astartes, right? Could make a ball of whatever is in that, suspended between pillars on chains or energy beams. Maybe slightly smaller than the one in Astartes... Maybe not!

Seen Astartes? Is there a film?

This is a very unfortunate selection of a theme for many of us, I see.

It seems to be one where many people already have something, but that's often the case, particularly if the theme fits something actually useful. I think I prefer that to themes that require something so unique that one will never have any use for it after the competition.

Also, those who already have a Necromunda-suitable relic (and who don't want to build another) could still build something for another system, if they play one.
