As Co champions, I ask the mighty @Hawkins44 and @Casus to put forward a theme.
and as the three quickest yaks to enter the last one, I also call on @Stoof @Tiny and @The Tailor

of coarse, any of you may pass and the selection goes to the next quickest.

any idea is viable (even if it’s already been done), and once themes are in, a poll will be created.

The Winning theme was:

Future Shock! - Convert a historical wargaming/fantasy or equivalent model to Necromunda/40k. Or convert a Necromunda/40k model back the other way to become historical/fantasy, for example a Mordheim model.

You have until 23:59:59 on the 18th September Baker Island time GMT-12 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baker_Island to finish your entry! Believe or not a Yak lives there, honest!

Love the Troll

There are many great themes we can go with, but I like unique takes on mundane things...

The Wall

The task is simple. Take something as mundane as a terrain piece representing a solid wall and make it interesting in any way you see fit.
However, it must be still useable for gaming, and must remain impassable. (So no Doors, or breaking through. Sorry, Jim.)
The good old Zone Mortalis terrain piece is ideal, but anything, as long it is vaguely similar and serves the same purpose, is a pass!

My theme suggestion for YC43:
Less Human Than Human
While Imperial citizens tend to treat Abhumans with a mixture of hatred, fear and prejudice, in the depths of the Underhive many have found their place amoungst the rust and the ruin. In this competition, create a model (or models) that focuses on these not-quite-human denizens - be they Squat, Ogryn, Ratling, Beastman, Scaly or other mutant / deviation. In Mordheim where the races are less "mixed" from human stock, this might extend to "former" humans, such as Vampires or Werewolves.

So is it just @The Tailor we're looking for a comp theme suggestion from at this point?

Make something from toys that aren't meant as gaming models. Can be terrain, minis, whatever you like as long as its at least 50% toys.

oops i missed this. its a bit late now to suggest but il try my best.

storefront

Even deep in the Underhive life finds a way, and so do the desperate merchants trying to make a profit.
Design a small shop,
storefront or trade cart terrain piece selling hideous or beautiful wares from the depths of the Underhive, bonus points for a accompanying merchant.

That would have been a great theme for me a little while ago… Here is one I prepared earlier:

I mean, if everyone is ok with it, I could set up a poll in a different thread, link it from here and let it run until the end of the week? Then we could kick off with the theme with most votes, and the captain need not be bothered.

I went ahead and did it. Voting thread is here, please go vote for your favorite theme (2 votes allowed).

I thought I might as well go ahead, if no one objects we will have a result and hopefully a theme in 6 days. If there are any objections, please let me know and I will delete the thread. Or, in case you'd like to be anonymous, ask a mod to close it. There will be no hard feelings either way, I'm just trying to facilitate the comp start. (Sorry if I'm stepping on your toes, @CaptainDangerous)

For things fitting the themes that I have recently finished…

Last campaign (finished ~two weeks ago) was a narrative season, and one of the two arbitrators said that if someone made them a DM Screen they’d get a prize.

I got inspired (read: completely sidetracked from other project’s) making this thing up. They said, when I presented it to them, that they were expecting someone to get some old folders and staple them together, maybe print something to glue to it. :)

So, this fits with the theme ”The Wall.”

“Macrosadist is still a slave”
Would absolutely LOVE if this graffiti started popping up all over the Hive, would so frustrate the 2nd arbitrator from this campaign. :)

May I have two bonus Yakpoints for this Wall and the Storefront? :D

After a very close vote, the theme is...

Future Shock! - Convert a historical wargaming/fantasy or equivalent model to Necromunda/40k. Or convert a Necromunda/40k model back the other way to become historical/fantasy, for example a Mordheim model.

So I guess we just start, and for the time being the deadline is September 18th, six weeks from now?

On a related note, does anyone know the status of @CaptainDangerous? Haven't seen them in some time now.
