Meanwhile, thinking about what I could potentially enter and realised that a lot of my models are conversions using fantasy bits…

Skaven bodies/arms/legs(or kroot legs in once instance) with Goliath/Random heads/weapons…
…Chaos marauders, some with Goliath heads without mohawks…
…Beastmen with shotguns…
…Lizardmen with laspistol/stub gun..
…Fimir with autogun…
…Skaven Stormfiend with Ogre head and Renderizers attached to the guns…
…and there is Kevin with his Power Fist and Gotedrinker Axe….
…and LazerShark is there too.

Me too, my Cawdor and Ratskin gangs are entirely converted from fantasy models. It shouldn't be hard to fit the theme, the difficulty is simply choosing what to do.

One possibility is more Ratskins, particularly if I get the soon-to-be-released female barbarian kit in time. Or I'd like to make (another) Scavvy gang if I can decide what models to base them on. I'm leaning towards the new Oathmark Orcs...

let's see... i have a dwarf and a night goblin model that came together in an ancient issue of White Dwarf. I could sci-fi them up...somehow. Or i have a few Cadians still on sprue, which i could try to de-sci-fi. Right?

I've done WFB > 40k a few times with my Slann Auditor, Perils of the Warp for the last comp and my Gor Half-price Horn in my avatar. Part of the reason I suggested this was the huge scope of possibility, because it's something people do a lot of. Some pics of older ones which might inspire others:

I think this time I'll go the other way - I have some mangled Space Marines from a TrollAid package, I think I'll take a Space Marine and turn them into a historical knight instead.

I'm gonna enter this one, with the hope to be able to make something out of this :

A Fantasy ogre that is half painted and was intended (many years ago...) to join my WFB Chaos warband.

A heavy miniature, full metal, not the easiest conversion, but hey, no pain no gain.

So the sprue says the dwarf and goblin came in a 2006 white dwarf. So I played with some arms and stuff, used a saw, got out some snips and files, and may have an entry for this comp in the works.

I don't know why I like it so much, but I love the one horn and one antenna thing he has going.

Is the shield remaining a shield? Have you considered making in into a decorated riot shield?

I’m unsure…. I considered filing it smooth to cover with something else (I don’t have a riot shield) a bit more techno. But then I also thought he’d hang on to it as a memento from home. Maybe some damage? Bullet hole or two?
