YakComp 49 - Mutant Freaks!

The theme for YakComp 49 is Mutant Freaks! As suggested by @trollmeat.

Build and paint a mutated fighter.

There's a page of mutation suggestions provided by @trollmeat a couple of posts below.

You have six weeks starting now, comp closes midnight on Sunday the 26th November (so as usual that's really about 6am UK time on Monday the 27th).

Normal rules apply except where they don't.

I invite @trollmeat for his win in Comp 48, plus @Tiny and @Ben_S for their speedy entries and @MedMos in my stead as 2nd place* to submit theme ideas for YakComp Comp 49.

Once we have the ideas in I'll open a poll for them/open a poll for what we have on Sunday if not everyone has submitted one.

Why not check out the Brainstorming thread for something to tickle those inspiration nodes (non-nominators with a good idea, perhaps post it there?).

Some of the older comp topics from a few years back might also be worth a re-visit for the newer members.

Lets go for probably the most original and inventive October theme anyone ever thought up:

"Orktober" - Paint da bestest greenskin(z) wot ever lived! Then push 'em round the table shouting Waaagh! Then take photos of 'em and show 'em to us.

EDIT: If yous a oomie or a panzee git and don't have any greenskins, just paint sumfink green and pretend its a proppa Ork. Waaagh!

I'm just gonna lift one right out of the brainstorm...

"Here be dragons" - make a dragon of your chosen variety, whether it be sump-, sea-, underground-, metallic- or chromatic-flavored.

Something Spooky would be a good theme, but we are already partway into October and then deciding on which suggestion to go with…

Yes, I also thought this will be a bit late for October themes. Assuming we're closer to (US) Thanksgiving, I suggest:

First contact. An encounter between one or more representatives of two different groups (tribes, species, etc).

@MedMos - you can do another ship arriving on foreign shores if you wish. I'd vote for that.

How about… “Mixx it up!!” - we know occasionally fighters split from their house and join another (traitors!!!) so why not convert one to another??

So we could have a Van Saar that’s joined the Goliaths, an Escher Cawdor or A Ratskin Delaque?? (yeah lets include Outlanders and Ash Wastes gangs too)

So, you want to make them look like they’ve moved over to the look and feel of their new house but still retain a bit of their previous look too.

Just think it might make for an interesting modelling opportunity and for Neo-Goliath players, there’s a good opportunity to make a legit “unborn” model for ya!!
