YakComp 51 - I Believe I Can Fly!

The theme for comp 51 is:

“I believe I can fly”

Whether it’s a faithful animal companion, loyal servo skull or trusty jet pack this character has taken to the skies or is at least trying to. Model something that’s in flight, able to fly or trying to fly!

Comp will last the usual 6 weeks ends Midnight UK time on Sunday the 26th May (actually about 6am on Monday, usual caveat).

Standard rules apply. Remember that entries must be started after the comp has begun (14th Apr).

Once we have the ideas in I'll open a poll for them/open a poll for what we have on Sunday 7th April if not everyone has submitted one.

Why not check out the Brainstorming thread for something to tickle those inspiration nodes (non-nominators with a good idea, perhaps post it there?).

Some of the older comp topics from a few years back might also be worth a re-visit for the newer members.

Consummate hunter
Whether for sport or profit, this individual is highly trained and perfectly equipped to track and take down their chosen prey. Be it the valuable Wildsnake in the depths of hive Primus, the prestigious Wyvern of the forested Old World or indeed the ever present, wily human...

"We can rebuild him..."

Model someone who has survived many battles mostly intact. This can feature bionics (Necromunda), the dok's latest experimental prosthetics (GoMo), or low-tech alternatives such as peg-legs or hooks for a hand (Mordheim, Frostgrave, etc).

@Stoof Though I saw your suggestion the other day, I certainly wasn't thinking of it when I came up with this. Still, Mad Legs Jakob would fit well.

Well, I like the flying option as it’s a bit different; we see a lot of bounty hunters and cyberised things in Necromunda generally so I think a flying thing would be a nice change.

Each to their own though.

In the meantime, I’m’a have to start scribbling concepts that combine all three options into one battle hardened flying hunter

I have one idea that fits two out of the three categories... so it stands to reason that the third category will be the one that wins.

I have not been able to drive myself to pick up a paint brush since last comp... But I've got at least one idea that fits two of the suggestions and two more ideas for the last one. Sooo, preemptively in!

I haven't even got an ideal for my own suggestion, let alone the others. I haven't done anything hobby-wise in a while either, but perhaps a new comp will give me some motivation...
