And the theme is... Big Guy!

Make a big guy for your gang, crew, warband, army or what have you.

Usual rules caveat - they apply except where they don't.

Comp ends midnight Sunday 5th August (as per usual actually about 6am on Monday UK time when I get up).

Have fun!

Theme selection is:
* A big guy for your chosen gang/team/warband/crew (@Fold).
* Man of la Mancha - Someone (or something) that exudes more confidence/nobility than what their equipment suggests (@MedMos) (If you haven't read Don Quixote look it up - it's both an absolute classic and what this theme is based on).
* I got nothing - Model someone who has hit rock bottom but is not out of the fight yet. Famous last stand, taking on a Space Marine with nothing but a length of lead pipe and zeal... that kind of thing (@daveh).

I will leave this poll up until next Thursday morning and we can have a few days over the usual 6 weeks for the comp.

I invite @MedMos, @Fold and @daveh to submit theme suggestions for YakComp 52.

If these can come in swiftly we'll have a quick vote to hopefully end this coming Sunday (16th).

Why not check out the Brainstorming thread for something to tickle those inspiration nodes if nothing comes to mind.

I’ll keep my suggestion simple - make a big guy for your chosen gang/team/warband/crew.

If that’s too basic, or has been done before, I’ll also suggest “magnetism” - make a model incorporating at least one magnetic point and finished parts for swapping out load out, arms, heads or something else.

I don't think we need worry about something being either basic or done before (so long as it wasn't too recently).

I do like the second suggestion too, but perhaps stick that in the brainstorming thread (assuming we're going with the first).

The intent is in the title. I didn't know how to express it succinctly or unambiguously, it depends on how you view the man, I guess. So fairly open to interpretation...

Not mysterious.
Depends on how it’s modelled. Someone who looks like a dusty Louis XIV armed with a reclaimed autogun and a pointy stick is certainly a puzzling figure to encounter.

Not sure I’ve got time read all 768 pages of it at the moment. But I do have it!!

I got nothing
Which is interestingly my last few entries for these competitions! 🤣
