Yakcomp Brainstorming Thread

“I think it’s totaled...” a piece of scenery that’s been destroyed. Hive quake toppled it, falling debris crushed it, enemy raid blew it up, Grots learning to drive, etc. maybe a double piece? Before and after.

“That’s not what this is for” something that’s been scavenged and is not being used for its intended purpose.

“Let me out!” Gang-specific cells for holding prisoners/captives/victims.

A case of Mistsken Mythology: make a nasty beastie from “mythology” that has somehow made it into the setting of your choice. This can be any mythology, not just standard historical (Roman, Norse, Chinese). Maybe the Orks meet a Hungarian Horntail? Perhaps the Skaven have unleashed a Jabberwocky? Does Grendl stalk the underhive? Maybe the Wyrds have drawn some Lovecraftian Beast from beyond the Warp?

Oh my God....

The Beast of Caer Bannog, fromMonty Python and the Holy Grail.

If this ever becomes a category I am entering with this.

Attack of the killer tomatoes!

The egg box challenge. To make something out of an egg box. Oh shucks, you might be thinking, i just did one last week. Well then don't worry. Pick something else like a corner yoghurt or a rough split chunk of wood. The idea isthat others should think 'how on earth are you going to make anything fromthat wierd shape. Bonus Yakpoint galour for the strangest objects used.

A piece of scatter terrain based on a store card.
Most people have an old one in their wallet.
Just glue stuff to it and paint it.
make multiples, easy way of providing cover as well as including cool bits.
No limit on height, street lamps/street signs would work. Go nuts.
I also thought they would make a cool project someday. So i've been stocking up.

Would like to see a competition where everyone has to use Bendy Straw and/or Tin Cans in ways that don’t instantly break suspension of disbelief :)

The only way is to hide them completely - they are both some of the few things I won’t use for that very reason.

“Kids toys, now for adults” use a kids toy (doesn’t have to be from your own Yaklings) to build something for your game system. The toy cannot be used for the purpose imagined by its manufacturer. (So no using cars as vehicles in Gaslands! Too easy!)

Inspired by Eric's Hobby Workshop's latest video...

War for territory! - Make a terrain piece to represent a Necromunda Territory from any of the rulebooks.

Just the right size - Make a terrain piece that sits on an A4 / US Legal size base as close to exact size as you can. Also works for many other base sizes.
