Yaktribe is turning FIFTEEN years old and, as a Tribe, we should all celebrate!

Starting from when the Sun rises in the East and until it Sets in the West CT. (Captain Time) I would like each and every yak to post something here, in this thread, as a gesture of good will amongst yaks and to show your appreciation for all things Yaktribe!
Whether it is undercoating a single mini, or organising a 24hr paintathon, get those brushes out and prove how Yak you really are!

What I’ve recently been painting!

I’d probably never have started a Bolt Action force at all if it wasn’t for Yaktribe - at least I might get some opponents now!!

Likewise I was gifted the Goliath at a TribeMeet (and he’ll be back to the next) so you can say that YakTribe and the community here has had a very positive impact in encouraging me to get round to planned projects and actually finish things!

All hail Malo!!! He shall return… it is foretold… just don’t expect Book of Outcasts to get added to the tools.

Happy Birthday Tribe!

Didn't have much time today to get paint onto models. But atleast did some pants on some Goliath's. Had a chuckle at the names written on my bases from when I was a kid. We have Billy, Szen/ Stan and Tourk.

Also skin in some OG Bronze Flesh which is still as good as the day I got it. Don't make them like they use too.

Sadly not. Even the Coat d'Arms paints which in theory are the same range, in the same pot design don't seem to last as long any more. But the old citadel range keeps going strong.

I’m having good luck with the Foundry paints so far - again exact same pots as ancient Citadel and seems very similar in viscosity and smell. When you think that Bryan Ansell used to run GW at that time and ran Foundry up until his death - I wouldn’t be surprised they’re sourced from the original supplier too.

There’s a lot of talk about CDA and some suggest they changed their paint formula several years back.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised though if the original stuff included now banned chemicals which has acted as a preserver.
I know some chemicals were outlawed in Europe which is why Titillating Pink and Snakebite Leather were never the same when they moved to the 90s versions.

After having the house full of 7-ish year olds, screaming their heads off at each other, I managed to sit down and celebrate yakday in relative peace and quiet.

Two Marienburgers for my growing Mordheim warband.

I'm very happy to have them done, since they've been in the paint queue since (checks plog...) August '23. Mostly just base colours and various washes applied (see the thread by @MusingWarboss on liquid talent ), but hey, I got something painted!
