this comp looks great, cant wait to see the entries ! i always loved the variety of trukks/trakks people made for gorkamorka. IF i can find some hackables i may try to enter . . . but that would mean painting something
While playing around with a pile of minis/matchbox cars/random bits of crapola scattered all over the floor I thought: "Tunnel Runners".
These vehicles are quite small, they could possibly fit one person, or even two very cramped people (or more if we're talking clowns). Perhaps they are used in the Underhive to race messages/cargo/vips from one dome to the next through old sewers and service tunnels that are so narrow that for two Tunnel Runners to passing each-other they have to go up on the side/slope/wall a bit, with Runners that don't crash head-on regularly even participating in Racing Events.
Anyway, I am having difficulty deciding which of these projects to work on:
Remind me, can currently WIP builds be entered here? I have an Ash Wastes Crawler about 70% built, but I could use the motivation to finish and paint it!
In the same vein I'd suggest for a bike also roughing out the rider first, at least get an armature the right size, then using the rider to scale the entire bike to.

Can we have a special dispensation or exemption on the "entirely new build" thing, just this once? :-D
Thought I would edit this in: Civilian vehicles in 40k is an inspiring article, and Scale Model Kits for 40k has some numbers and companies. The civilian vehicles one has a lot of example pictures and is a really good read.
Have a pintle mount weapon where one of the hatches is and a gunner standing in the 'box' at the rear. Add some ad hoc armour plates to disguise the original vehicle a bit and bingo.
Think I'll stick my scale comparison shot up here too...
These two vehicles are very simillar cars IRL. Two-door five-seaters on the 'three boxes' outline. The left-hand one is 1/48, the right-hand one is 1/32.
1/43 and 1/35 can for our purposes be treated as interchangeable with 1/48 and 1/32.
Isn't this scale good only if vehicles themselves are considered heroic? Even 1/48 seems too big as you can barely see over the car from the model's perspective and it shouldn't happen with these cars. 1/60 is closer to the scale I would use for scenery bits. Not that the scenery part necessarily applies for the contesting pieces.
That is one of the reasons why this theme for the competition is so good - everyone will come up with different things in different scales, and they'll all look great
...except mine, 'cos I've had mushrooms on the brain and not actually started my entry! :-D
