Myself and some friends played a game of Confrontation at the Oldhammer 'Bring Out Your Lead' event on 9/10 Aug 2014. To ease us in to the complex rules, we stripped the system back to the bare bones (text highlighted red was also not used).
- The game involved 3 players plus a GM.
- Each gang was 5 models strong, with weapons as depicted on the model.
- The GM rolled our gang stats prior to the game; we each had a gang leader, a henchman, a hardened ganger and 2 raw recruits.
- Each gang had mission objectives, determined by the GM (my Brat gang had to a) find drug stashes, b) scrag (take trophies) from dead opposing gangers, c) 'look cool'
Looking cool required me to spend action points doing cool stuff (uneccessary combat rolls, strutting with canes, extravagently combing hair).
The other gangs also had non-combat, non-mission critical objectives; Confrontation is much more roleplay focussed than Necromunda - you can do other things than just move and fight!
