Hi, can anybody help me? I have the Hive secundos starter box as well as the book of desolation. I would like to play the new campaign in the book of desolation but I am a little unsure what I should get to do so. I am considering two options: a) buy the rulebook+book of the outlands+some vehicles, b) buy the ash wastes box.

As far as understand, the rules for using vehicles is included in the rulebook, but not rules for creating them (or for the models). In order to have them, I need either book of the outlands or the rulebook from the ash wastes, is that correct? And: to the rulebook from the ash-wastes and the book of the outlands contain the same information about vehicles? For instance, if I wanted to make a cawdor gang and use it in the underhells campaign, would the ash wastes rulebook be enough, or do I need the outlands book for that?

Thanks in advance!

Hey, welcome the the tribe!

So, secundus is somewhat a standalone campaign system but to answer your questions:

A. Book of the Outlands , this contains all the rules for cuatom vehicles etc so you can kitbash till your hearts contnet!

I'd say this is probably a good expansion point to carry on shenanigans in the ash wastes!

It doesn't have a collective list of other house specific vehicles (Cawdor walker things, Escher Cutters, Holiath Maulers etc) because necromunda reasons...meaning, they're in the series of Aranthinan Succession books (whole other campaign).

Fairly sure the Core Rulebook has all the vehicle rules (other than the custom option stuff) solid say that probably best option is buy:

Core Rulebook, Book of Outlands, some vehicles you like , (probably the ridgehauler since its basically an auto include in the secundus campaign as far as I know).

You can download an app called NercoRAW which is an amalgamation of all rules as written for Necromunda and can give you a good idea for what books you may need.

Also, each house has a "House of..." book that has various gang specific bits (think 40K codex equivalent) so in theory to play a Cawdor secundan incursion like you mentioned, really, just the House of Faith book and maybe treat yourself to a Ridgehauler.

Hope that helps any (?) Feel free to DM or reply and I'll try to help out

Ok, thanks! A qiuck follow-up question: can all the gangs use custom vehicles? I would actually like to play with the van Saar gang, but I do not like the Arachni Rig models. But if I can build something else, it might be enough buy the outlands (plus the rulebook and the "house book" :-/)?

Never a problem! Yeah, you definitely can use The Book of The Outland to make pretty much any vehicle you fancy for any gang (other than Ash Waste Nomads)

There are rules for diffrent drive types (wheeled, tracked, walker, skimmer) that can be used to represent diffrent locomotion types and then diffrent chassis like a light, medium, heavy type vehicle. It's a decent set of rules but to be honest, Necromunda (at least how my friends and I play) is such a fun, customisable game that you can basically do whatever you want as long as your Arbitratior (think Dungeon Master) agrees, but if you play casual with a friend or even solo you can basically do whatever you want if you think its cool!

Im working on an Arvus Lighter as a flyer for a special scenario im planning son will use some rules from book of outlands and other books to have presidents for reasonable rules to represent a "true" flyer type vehicle in necromunda.

Pinterest has some good source material for kitbashes etc that can get the brain working, one that stands out for me is a Corvus Blackstar kitbash with some Tau drinks to make a Van Saar vehicle similar to something from the Matrix franchise!

Necromunda is great for kinda crazy things amd encouraging that player base to make things and find rules amongst their play groups that work for them, is it a perfect system? Absolutely no. Is it fun? Definitely!

Check out youtube for Miniatures Rundown and a series called Nercromundown, they've got a video on vehicles etc and some good deep dives on each house too.

Hope that helps some?
