N18 Another underhive ganger thread

no no. i get that. it’s just that when you’re looking at the mini from behind the scenic piece, the black is kinda odd.

i think it would be better. the piece is there, and it’s covering part of the mini, so painting it so it shows up like from the other angles makes it part of the miniature.

it’s not bad the way it is, it’s just a little odd.

Hey guys! I've painted another threee gangers, now with swords!

So this brings me almost to the finishing point of my starting band.
I didn't realize that I forgot to paint the hair on the arms of the shotgun ganger until I saw the photos :( I also thought that regular guys would lack the opportunity to buy any stylish fur coats (like my Leader and one of the Heavies have), so theu look a bit more simple. What do you think guys? I personally consider adding some additional touches to the teeth on the swords as they look too flat for me. Any other suggestions?

And sorry @Punktaku , I forgot to update the ganger with the weird wall on his base :( I will post him asap!

Now I need only one juve to finish the gang and be redy to play!

@Blood Donor Wow, thank you!
Well, as long as I am a juve on this forum and hasn't played much games (although I've managed to play some) - I think I'll settle with "Juve thread". Maybe later it'll become something like a "Another ganger thread" or so ;) so I hope I will not dissapoint you with the stuff I'm working on! Also there will be Enforcer squad somewhere along the way...

@Azzabat Thanks :) well I believe that the recipe is relatively simple, so I'll try to explain it.
I've used a mix of Vallejo Game Color (VGC) Hexed Lichen, Vallejo Model Color (VMC) Dark Prussia Blue and VGC Beasty Brown. I mixed those in proportion of somewhat like 2+3+1 respectively (so the mix should be more bluesh rather than purple-ish) and covered all the leather parts with the mix.
Once it dried I've started to apply heavy drybrush, adding more VGC Beasty Brown to the mix - the formula would look like 1 part of the previous mix and 2 parts of Beasty Brown. After that I drybrushed the thing again, now with pure Beasty Brown. And in the end I've used a mix of VGC Beasty Brown and VGC Bronzed Flesh to lightly drubrush some sticking-out parts and to add a bit more worn-off look to the leather.
So, the leather is pretty much done with lots of drybrush :) I would suggest to find any references of old leather jackets to get the idea how old (I mean, _really_ old) leather jackets look.

@spafe well then, I'll change the thread name as soon as :) although I'm wondering if there could be some quiet corner in the entire Underhive where all my possible possies (and my friends') would operate... something like Slagville or Toxic Bay?..

@tom9richards Thank you! This guys is actually the star of our gang. After few testing games he forced 3 to 4 goliaths out of action (I believe even 11-killed one) and thus gained nickname "Roaster".

@The_Worker Many thanks :) I also like this details. It adds to the overall "used" feel of the miniature.

So, after some final consideration regarding one particular autogun-ganger I decided that I'll go with what I have and just paint a single juve and call it a day. So here's the juve (I call him Fat Tom, because, well, he looks a bit too big in comparison to others):

Thus I've finished my gang and it looks like this (a scummer-beastmen aside):

Now I've ordered some Tempestus scions to convert them into Enforcers - and while I wait I plan to add a bounty hunter, a ratskin scout and 3+ members of the gang (including one juve with a stub gun you might've seen earlier in this topic).

Hello Chilipepa,

I have to admit that we got inspired with a couple of new ideas from your work here.
The beastman is amazing and the weapon stocks have a crisp wooden look, good work there.

I would like to see what you come up with these scions, do not hesitate to share!
