N17 New official Necromunda in 2017 !

Looks like i will be needing some new gangers with shotguns then.
Think it will be interesting to see what kind of kit people give their gangers for campaigns with a mix of 2d&3d games so many short ranged options that the lasgun looks like a sniper rifle by comparison and could be king in 3d. Sad to see no boltgun in there and im thinking executioner rounds have got to be rare or expensive.
My standard preference of 3x3x4 should help here. Instead of a 4 man shooting team, a combat team and mid range team, i'm looking at having a 4 man combat team and two tunnel clearing team.
I am excited.
Apologies I had so much to do. I am now going to build the 2 gangs but have been looking through some bits. Early points to note that I don’t believe have been covered:
Only comes with 22 blank character cards. I wonder if they will sell these separately eventually?
Tactics cards - 4 specific Escher and 4 specific Goliath cards. 2x 10 non gang specific cards so choose from 14 cards at the moment.
Dice - I hadn’t seen it confirmed, but the firepower (sustained fire) dice has 3 1’s (1 of which is the out of ammo), 2 2’s and 1 3. The injury dice has 3 serious injury facings, 2 flesh wound and 1 out of action.
Floor tiles - I have owned zone mortalis since the day it was released. Not used it anywhere near as much as I would like but fully enjoy it. Not sure if I had never measured and not noticed or if I had just forgotten, but they are not 12’ tiles they are 30cm so a bit short of making a 4x4 board or whatever. By contrast the card tiles in the box set are actually 29cm x 29cm so 1cm smaller than zone mortalis. Now this doesn’t matter that much as you likely wouldn’t use a mix of the 2 unless you were planning to slowly upgrade your Necromunda tiles with sexy ZM tiles, but (and I haven’t glued the plastics together yet) it likely means the doors don’t quite fill the space perfect on the FW resin ZM tiles if you were planning on getting lots to make a much cheaper way of having doors. It can’t be much at all in it given only 1cm loss over a 30 cm tile but just in case. The tiles are 1 of each of the ZM tiles with 2 of one type. Both sides are the same tile but one side has either holes in the floor, toxic mist or demolished walls.
Army lists - very different house equipment lists. Very limited by what can currently be taken between each gang, which actually feels like a good thing. 1 Ganger can take a special weapon so including the leader and 2 champions you could technically have 4 models with a special weapon now (instead of 3). Leaders and champions have no restrictions so you could have 3 models with a heavy weapon (though at the moment Goliath have access to only one and Escher none).

man, a 10 man Goliath Gang got expensive quickly.
2 Juves, 5 gangers, 2 champions, and leader. Renderizer, Rivet Canon, Grenade Launcher, Power Hammer. Now I need to equip 7 people with 75 points. Damn.
Going by some conversation on Facebook, people are saying that 'one gang per quarter' was referring to the release schedule after the core gangs are out. Can anyone clarify just what the wording used on warhammer love was?
On the FB group people seem to think we may still get the next four main house gangs really quickly. Hope that's correct!

Yeah, I saw (and was part of) that conversation. Some folk saying it was the Necromunda release schedule, some that they referred to the BB release. Very confusing.
Also wondering what a quarterly release schedule would mean for the LGT event.
Seems they're emphasizing agility with juves - both Escher and Goliath juves have better movement stat than other gangers, and the Goliath one also has better I (Escher have I2+ across the board, so can't improve there). I like it, gives juves a tactical niche that isn't catching bullets.
Absolute crap if you ask me. The Goliath Juve will grow up into a Goliath ganger and then why has he got +1M and I?
Because he hasn't ruined his mobility with excessive gains yet.
But as soon as he gets the gainzz!!! shouldn't he lose the mobility?
Unless Juves no longer become better members once they level up...
Could be they're more of a different class of ganger than a ganger-in-training now. The fact that they're treated more like individuals than gangers seems to be pointing a this direction.

Fair enough. I personally hate the idea of Juves being scrawny little kids at all. A 16 year old isn't all that different to a 24 year old when given a gun and told to shoot someone. Maybe Juves are supposed to represent 10 year olds, in which case its pretty poor taste for a game. The idea that now they're the main characters in a gang vs the other older dudes is just horse shit, likely brought on by watching too much Walking Dead.
1500 credits not 1000 credits now. The 2 sample gangs both come to exactly 1500 credits. The Escher gang though has 700 credits tied into 3 models!! The Goliath gang is far more balanced.

Despite the Necro tiles being slightly smaller (1cm) than the ZM tiles, the plastic doors don’t fit in the ZM tiles as they are ever so slightly too big. You could cut down a bit from each side to get round this but I imagine this was a deliberate move considering the FW double doors are £16 each!! Wouldn’t want people buying cheap plastic ones would they lol.
The FW ones are a million times better and I have 6, but really need to buy lots more. But spending a lot of money on doors never feels like the sexy purchase.
