Necromunda The Sump: General hobby venting thread (Beware: old men shouting at clouds)

Old Webstore actively hemorrhaging older models so they can flog it 3 months down the line at a 200% mark-up, New Webstore actively hemorrhaging customers because it's worse than the old one in every possible way. Mainline games losing players because the live-service model just doesn't fucking work for games like these, Necro struggling under bloat because it just isn't big enough to support constant releases. Not even mentioning the new Core Book that doesn't cover half of what it needs to.
Even their third-party shit is going under with CA, someone needs to start smacking Englishmen upside the head.

It seems like they've also gotten rid of the interactive mini pics, where you could spin them round and view them from the top?

I think those are now the servo skull holding a bit of paper. It seems that system is broken currently.

Much like the links to Warhammer Community and Warhammer+ from the menu, which just drop to a 404 error.

I’ve never, ever needed this function until yesterday, hilariously.

My pal donated me a basilisk that was missing a few bits and had no instructions, and I couldn’t quite work out how it was supposed to go together. A rear view would have been perfect but alas, t’was not to be. I ended up building it wrong and had to wrench it to bits and have another go. 100% GW’s (well, Warhammer’s) fault.

Unless I misunderstood, someone on FB said the new site is as easy to navigate as Amazon!

I'm not seeing the "500 error" ATM, but have had to turn off Privacy Badger in order to access the drop down menu and still can't find my mailing address and my preferred store. Did they outsource the site design to some budget Indian IT company?

I’m leaning towards intern. Most semi-competent web designers could have that site done in an afternoon.

Isn't this the issue with GW notoriously trying to do stuff in-house and only employing people who love the hobby? (Aka prepared to take staff discount on plastic crack in lieu of competitive wages). Hence their job adverts never display renumeration brackets etc..

Means they don't always get the best market skilled people for specialist staff. Don't get me wrong doing stuff in-house can be good, it just isn't always.

Finally had a peek at the new website...woof! That bad boy is frenetic, fugly and failtastic.

In other news I stumbled across the new/re-launch of the 40K rpg by Crucible 7, Imperium Maledictum. I was bitter after Fantasy Flight lost the license so nothing about Wrath and Glory appealed to me when it launched. I found it most interesting (and pleasing) that I was surprised the product existed.

I looked over Imperium Maledictum when it came out via ebook and did a review. If you liked the FFG RPGs, you'll like it. It does have changes from Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader/et all, but it isn't the same as the complete re-do that Wrath and Glory was. Personally, I like it a lot better than Wrath and Glory (as I'm used to the FFG ones and prefer them) and am going to push for it for the next play-by-post campaign I go through to give it a really good test.

Nice review. Very helpful and adds to the temptation to get the digital rules at least. More ideas for modeling Inqusimunda warbands/gangs I imagine. I overheard a FLGS employee reading out the basics to his co-workers so I chatted with him a bit after that. He was very enthused and being a former player of the FFG RPGs seemed to like how it was structured.

Escher and Enforcer got the same exact vehicle crew (Helion = Ranger)! Was bored today so made a colorized comparison table.

Yeah haha consistency is strong here. Cost, stats, skills - all the same :giggle: Curious to see how strong that Van Saar BS3+ crew will be. Must be top tier bonus for 5-10 credits, something everyone would always choose if they could.

40k Badcast was discussing that on their latest episode. They’re under the impression the Van Saar crew will be unstoppable. Their thought was that with Ash Waste weather tables, visual ranges will be reduced, and many heavy weapons get +1 at short range, so that WS 3+ will hit on anything but a 1.
