I think I agree... Though I'm not sure how to achieve that. I don't have any weathering powders or the like. Any ideas? Also, then the tractor bit should be yellow as a main colour also, right?!

I do plan to add some hazards stripes at various places. Soon(TM).

Do you have an airbrush? If so the hairspray and toothbrush method can give a decent peeling paint look.

For the worn and rusty edges and spots you want to use a chipping technique, such as these in this tutorial:

The sponge technique is quite effective and very easy to learn.

Those military modellers are experts at weathering and rusting. They just don't know that back in WW2 armoured vehicles were hand painted with large brushes and heavy coats of paints, and that the average life expectancy of a tank on an operational battlefield was 3 months...

I've been sponging quite a bit, and getting better I think.;) Not so sure about the yellow I painted last night, though. Might be the black wash, should've used the old noggin' and done a brown one.

I think I'm calling the platform done. I'm liking how it turned out, though I don't think the photo shows a lot of detail... I'll try and ammend that in the comp photos, but meanwhile here it is!
Once again I feel like it might be a little too subtle, while still not detailed enough for very close inspection. As mentioned, I like it. Here's hoping some of you guys do too! 😁

Comp was uploaded, but I spoke too soon about practicing my grafitti skills... Now it's MRMC 2020!

But first, my comp entry.

I think it went ok, though there are a few elements missing that was in the original plan. Like a sump boat and a little shack or lean-to. But time ran out, and I'm almost proud I didn't overextend. Maybe I am learning a little time management.

Next up, with three days to go (and work tonight, so no hobby!), the Mad Robot Mega Challenge 2020. The Witch and her closest companions so far:

If I'm lucky (and stick the 4yo in front of the tv while the 2yo sleeps) I can prime them today and have them ready for paint tomorrow evening. Fingers crossed! But three colour minimum might be all I can manage in time...

Three colour minimum achieved! They are a little dark now, as I applied washes and inks, details and highlighting as much as time permits tomorrow.

MrsMos smiled at me the other morning and said "you need to sleep, love". And she's right, but dammit I'm so close now! Just one more evening of painting, and then -for better or worse- they're done. 😁 (y)

Thanks, mate! The snow leopard is still Khaki base colour. I had a go at it last week, but overdid the spots and drybrushing and washing and more brushing... The great part is, I now have a good idea of what to do, and what not to do, so it should be a fairly simple task tonight (famous last words?).

And I slept like a baby last night, and so did all the kids! So my eyes shouldn't be too heavy tonight.;)

Whatever phone you're using now, it will no doubt have some video editing capacity.

I think that if you can spare the time that you should make a little video on magnetizing because that is a minefield of miniature gaming, but if done well... total game changer for many. And you seem to have a real skill for that so a video would, I think, be brilliant for many. Me included.

Wow, didn't expect that! Thanks a lot for the vote of confidence, @RonBSM. 😁 But I pretty much just followed @cardyfreak's excellent tutorial, only I magnetised the whole arm because they were so thin and fragile. I'd be happy to give advice, if you've got questions that aren't covered by the tutorial! The main lesson I learned was, you probably don't need every model to have every weapon option available. I could've magnetised far more efficiently, instead of just doing everything.
